Banner slider
Hero banners and sliders for Magento 2, managed in the admin and placed with Page Builder or widgets. Images are resized for desktop and mobile and served as WebP, so the banner at the top of the page doesn’t cost you your LCP.
Banners and sliders, placed anywhere
Build a library of banners in the admin, group them into sliders, then put them on the home page, a category, a CMS page or a static block.

What it covers
- The hero image loads eagerly with fetchpriority set to high, so the browser fetches it first
- WebP at the size the screen needs, instead of a 3,000 pixel upload shrunk by the browser
- The Slick carousel ships inside the module, so there’s no third-party script to wait for
- Existing banners from the old BoxLeaf module move across automatically on setup:upgrade

What it does not
- It won’t make a slow server fast: time to first byte still comes first
- Autoplaying sliders can still hurt conversion if the first slide isn’t the one that matters, which is a design call, not a module setting

It’s a normal Composer module: composer require coullworks/module-banner-slider, bin/magento module:enable CoullWorks_BannerSlider, bin/magento setup:upgrade and bin/magento cache:flush, plus setup:di:compile and static content deploy in production mode.
Will my old banners survive the switch?Behind it · I’ve got a year of banners in the old module
Yes. Coming from boxleafdigital/module-bannerslider, the upgrade patch copies your banners and sliders into the new tables when setup:upgrade runs.

Why not just use Page Builder’s own slider?Behind it · Is this one more module I don’t need?
Page Builder’s slider works, but it doesn’t resize or convert your images, so the hero is often the heaviest thing on the page. This module makes the desktop and phone images for you, serves WebP and loads the first one with high priority. If your banners are already small and fast, you may not need it.
Can I use it on client stores?Behind it · Am I allowed to?
On a store you own or operate, yes. Fitting it on a client’s store as part of paid work counts as a paid service under the licence, so it needs a commercial licence or written consent first. Ask before you install it.
